Farmer of the Year 2019

The 6th Farmer of the Year Awards took place in The Sheraton Hotel, Athlone on Thursday November 14th 2019. There were entries in five categories and panel selections for farm safety, lifetime achievement and the overall Farmer of the Year 2019. The Zurich Farm Insurance Farming Independent Farmer of the Year Awards are all about recognizing and rewarding the very best in Irish Farming.

David Russell from Thurles, Co. Tipperary won The Grand Prix Farmer of the Year sponsored by Zurich.

Beef Farmer of the Year award sponsored by Zurich to Dara Walton from Callan, Co. Kilkenny.

Dairy Farmer of the Year award sponsored by ICMSA to David Russell from Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Sheep Farmer of the Year award sponsored by Farming Independent to John Earle from Gorey, Co. Wexford.

Tillage Farmers of the Year award sponsored by Teagasc to Julian Hughes Kells, Co. Kilkenny
